William "Bill" Magna Sr.

William Anthony "Bill" Magna, Sr., 69, of Round Lake, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026 in Libertyville, knowingly surrounded by love. Born on April 27, 1957, in Waukegan, Bill was a lifelong resident of Round Lake, where he spent all 69 years of his life. He attended Winona State University in Minnesota before beginning a long and dedicated career as an Operating Engineer with IUOE Local 150, from which he later retired. Bill found happiness in the simple things that brought people together. He enjoyed watching classic Western television shows golf, cooking shows and preparing meals for those he cared about. He especially looked forward to summertime, when family and friends would gather around the pool, sharing good food, laughter, and lasting memories. A loyal Green Bay Packers fan from an early age, Bill proudly cheered his team through multiple Super Bowl championships and rarely missed a game. More than anything, Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, and his love, generosity, quiet strength, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Kimberly; his children, William Anthony "Bill" (Pamela) Magna, Jr. and Kassie (Brad) Spletter; his cherished grandchildren, Aubrey, Avery, William Anthony "Bubba" Magna III, and Brooklyn Spletter; his brothers, Rudolph (Barb) Magna, Jr. and Robert (Lesley) Magna; his sister, Mary Beth Kelso; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph, Sr. and Alice Magna. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, assistants, Advocate Home Care & Hospice, Encompass Health staff, and the Round Lake Fire Department paramedics for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided Bill throughout his illness. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville. Prayers will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at the funeral home before proceeding to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Ave., Libertyville, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery. Bill's family will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. His kindness, unwavering love for his family, generous heart, and the joy he found in bringing people together will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
