Kenneth J. Faulkner

Kenneth James Faulkner, 76, of Mundelein, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 13, 2024. He was born on March 31, 1948, in Libertyville, IL and was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from St. Joseph School, Libertyville High School, and the Milwaukee Technical School. Ken was a veteran, proudly serving his country as a member of the US Army 31st Engineering Battalion in Vietnam at Phouc Vinh. A man of myriad talents and interests, Ken wore many hats throughout his career. He was a skilled structural carpenter, postman, refuse truck driver, mover, and later, Midwest Sales Manager for the Graco Corp. He retired as Marketing & Sales Manager for Illinois Tool Works, Dynatec. Ken's life was enriched by a variety of passions. He was an avid fan of the White Sox and loved auto racing in nearly any form, as well as tinkering with cars, playing hockey, and coaching Little League. He had a keen eye for nature photography, loved watching and protecting birds, and found solace in reading, poetry, and exploring word origins. His creativity extended to designing and building hardscapes for their garden, and he was known for baking delicious rolls for Thanksgiving dinners from a recipe handed down by his mother. He had a unique ability to use his humor and warmth to relate with children and always brought laughter to family gatherings with his quick wit. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Pamela (Frayer) Faulkner, and his son, Luke (Elizabeth) Faulkner. He also leaves behind three cherished sisters, Margaret (Frank) Pieroni, Catherine (The late Charles) Eiserman, and Jeannie (The late Rod) Leafblad, and three brothers, Lewis "Bud" (Joanne), Raymond (Sandy), and Edward (Karen). He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Kathryn (Portegys) Faulkner, his brother Donald, sister Evelyn (The late Elmer) Vetter, and his first wife, Franki Isaacson-Faulkner. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W.
