Douglas W. Priebe

Douglas W. Priebe, 59, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024 in Libertyville, IL with his sister, Susan, by his side. Doug was born on April 28, 1965 and was a lifelong resident of Libertyville. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed many summers camping, fishing and visiting with friends in St. Germain, WI. Doug found his greatest joy boating, fishing, and relaxing at his family’s cottage on the Wisconsin River in Poynette, WI. He had a wide variety of other interests, including cars, sporting activities, and reading, as well as a strong interest in the history of Libertyville. He saw value in things which others may have discarded, and reused and repurposed items with passionate enthusiasm. Above all else, Doug will be remembered for the years of exceptional care provided to his grandmother, mother, and father during their various illnesses. Doug courageously fought his own battles with a very rare form of cancer for over thirteen years, and his family is thankful he is finally free from his pain. Doug is survived by his sister, Susan (Bill) Jahncke, nephew, Bruce Jahncke, and niece, Katie Jahncke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Marlene Priebe. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. in Libertyville. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Libertyville. Memorials may be made to The Grade Boat Club, P.O.
