Debra A. Rosenberg

Debra A. Rosenberg, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at her home in Mundelein, Illinois. Debra was born February 2, 1954, in Elgin, Illinois, to Henry and Shirley Oster. She was raised in Palatine, graduating from William Fremd High School. Debra was a longtime resident of Vernon Hills, where she began her career as a lunchroom aide and worked her way up to become principal secretary for Hawthorn School District #73. After retiring, she enjoyed the past 18 years living in the Del Webb community in Mundelein. Debra and her late husband, Allan, proudly served for many years on the Vernon Hills Fourth of July Committee and the Revolutionary War Reenactment Committee. She was a woman of many talents and interests. She loved crafting and decorating everything in her path with beads, gems, and crystals. She was also an accomplished seamstress and especially enjoyed making Halloween costumes for her children as they were growing up. Debra enjoyed bowling and playing darts, becoming a state dart champion. She and Allan shared a love of travel, especially their trips to Lahaina, Hawaii. They also loved riding their Can-Am Spyder three-wheel motorcycle, and Debra was a founding member of the Woodstock Spyder Riders Club. Most of all, Debra treasured her family and grandchildren. She loved cooking and entertaining and had a gift for bringing people together and making sure everyone was having a good time. Even throughout her illness, Debra maintained an incredible attitude and continued to put others first. Her warmth, creativity, humor, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Debra is survived by her two children, Daniel (Emily) Rosenberg and Jennifer (Michael Love) Albrecht; four grandchildren, Tyler and Jackson Rosenberg and Devin and Jordan Albrecht; her sisters, Janice and Kathleen Oster and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Shirley Oster, her beloved husband, Allan, in 2018, and her brother, Michael Oster. A visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, an organization Debra held near and dear to her heart and supported by raising money throughout her lifetime.
