Ann R. Sicuro

Ann R. Sicuro, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her home in Green Oaks, Illinois. She was born on March 25, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, where she was raised and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1954. Ann worked as a secretary for several companies throughout her career, including Acme-Wiley Sign Company, where she met her beloved husband, Joe. She and Joe were longtime residents of Libertyville, where they raised their family. She also worked for Hetler Lumber Company and Peshak Films in Libertyville before starting her family and becoming a dedicated homemaker. A devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville, Ann was active as a Girl Scout leader and room mother at Oak Grove School. Ann made life beautiful. She took great pride in her extensive gardens and could often be found tending to her flowers. She delighted in decorating for Christmas, and many children of family and friends came to admire her expansive Christmas village. She also enjoyed the annual Christmas ravioli-making tradition with her daughters and granddaughters, spending time with loved ones in her beloved gazebo, and treasured her daily walks with her dear friend, Cathy. Ann will be remembered as an incredible Italian cook, despite proudly being of German ancestry, and was especially known for her homemade ravioli and calzones. She loved hosting family gatherings and celebrations and was a devoted grandmother and “cool aunt,” treating her family to special outings to The Bozo Show, the circus, the zoo, and shopping trips. Above all, Ann lived for her family, and her love and generosity will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was the loving mother of Nicole (Christopher) Leipski and Gina (Brian) Hermreck; devoted Nonni to Gianna and Sophie Leipski and Nicola “Niko” Hermreck; and cherished grand-dog, Louie. She is survived by her sister, Christine (John) Pfeffer; sister-in-law, Betty Liesz; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Sicuro, in 2016; and by her siblings, Marion Liesz, Ruth Liesz, Betty (Don) Flood, and Robert Liesz. Ann’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Advocate Health at Home Hospice, with special thanks to her nurses, Ednee and Adrian, and her aide, Lauren, for the loving care and support they provided during Ann’s time at home. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Avenue, Libertyville. Prayers will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Avenue, Libertyville.
