Teresa A. Brighton

September 14, 1952 - March 13, 2022

Teresa A. Brighton, 69, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. She was born September 14, 1952 in Detroit, MI, where she also earned her Bachelor’s degree in education at Marygrove College. Teresa was a kindergarten teacher in Michigan, worked in education in Illinois and devoted her life to raising her three children. She will be remembered as a loving wife, dedicated mother, and “Nana” to her grandchildren. Teresa enjoyed spending every moment with her family and will be dearly missed. Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Scott Brighton; 3 children, Scott (Sheana) Brighton, Meghan (Severin) Griffiths and Heather (Dane) Bildsten; 6 grandchildren, Lauren, Kennedy & Paige Brighton, Severin Griffiths, Jr., and Olivia & Carter Bildsten and by 4 siblings, Colleen (Frank) Mohacsi, Mary (the late Mike) Miller, George (Phillip Everett) Woods and Rick (Mary) Woods. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (one block west of Milwaukee Ave.) in Libertyville. Prayers will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple Ave. in Libertyville. Interment will be held at Ascension Cemetery.
