Susan A. Pegg Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Susan A. (nee Ahlenius) Pegg, 77, passed away after a prolonged illness on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in Libertyville, IL. She was born May 27, 1944 to William and Kathryn Ahlenius in Sweetwater, TX and is survived by her husband of 53 years, four brothers and their families. Susan was a 1962 graduate of MacArthur High School in Decatur, IL and received her Bachelor’s degree in education in 1966 from Illinois State University in Normal, IL. She was a former teacher at Woodland Elementary School in Gages Lake, IL for 35 years. She will be remembered as a firm and consistent disciplinarian and at her retirement reception, she was complimented by many parents for the positive effect she had on their children, who were by then about to embark on their respective college experiences. Away from her career, Susan emulated her mother as a capable seamstress, also learning quilting. In addition to other hobby interests, she joined her husband in amateur radio activities, and convinced him to join her in horseback riding. Together they have enjoyed several vacation trips with often rugged itineraries. A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Avenue in Libertyville, IL.
