Jawaid I. Kurishy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jawaid I. Kurishy, 74, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. He was born in India and was raised in Pakistan where he received his bachelor’s degree in business from University of Karachi. Jawaid came to the United States Chicagoland area in 1971 and was formerly of Libertyville, living in Grayslake for the past 15 years. He will be remembered as the kindest person touching the lives of everyone he knew. Jawaid enjoyed growing jasmine plants, playing cards, dining out, liked to shop and was a stylish dresser. His hard work ethic will be remembered, never missing a day of work and his sense of humor, laughing, cooking and spending time with his family will be dearly missed. Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Sheryl Kurishy; 2 children, Amber (Will) Funmaker and Zaib (Liz) Kurishy and their daughter, Isabelle; brother, Mohammad Ather; sister, Kehkashan Yasmeen; nephew, Iqbal (Sobia) Shaikh and their daughter, Zara and by many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and by 5 siblings. A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by Janaza prayers at 10:30-10:45 a.m. and a time of sharing after prayers on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W.
