James A. Page, 90, passed away on Saturday, October26, 2019, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois, from complications from Parkinson’s disease. He was 90 years old. He was born September 6, 1929, in Greenville, Wisconsin, the youngest of 9 children of Reuben Zelotus Page from Melanchton, Ontario, Canada, and Mary Imelda Gaunt Page from Jacksonport, Wisconsin. He was raised on his family’s farm in Appleton, Wisconsin. He attended the National Guard from 1947-1949, and later attended Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, studying pre-med, majoring in botony and biology. He received his Bachor’s degree in 1953. After college, he lived in Janesville, Wisconsin, and moved to Libertyville, Illinois, in 1970. He began his career in pharmaceutical sales, and won a national advertising award while at Warner Lambert in the 1960’s. In the 1970’s, he earned his real estate license, eventually becoming an independent commercial realtor in Lake County, Illinois. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville. He was a strong Catholic and believer in Jesus. He loved Psalm 23. He enjoyed golfing, watching the show “Blue Bloods,” listening to music, reading and watching football games, especially when the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears played each other. His nickname was “Big Woids.” He married Virginia Marie Lotter, daughter of Joseph Conrad Lotter and Arline Beatrice Luedke Lotter of Seymour, Wiscosin, in 1952. Settling in Janesville, Wisconsin, they eventually moved permanently to Libertyville. Illinois, in 1970. They were married for 67 years. He is lovingly remembered and survived by Virginia and their 7 children: Steven James, Michael Joseph, Richard John (Sharon), Daniel William (Karyn), John Francis, Christopher Robert, and Rebecca Ann Page; 6 grandchildren: Stephanie Dawson (Tim) James, Sean, Chelsea (Devin), Taylor, Daniel James; his sister Margaret Dolores Page Carvin; 3 step-children: Jeff Tornes Page, Krista Page, and Sarah Page Howe; great-grandchildren: Dalilah Marie, Geneva May, and Amelia Rose Dawson. He was preceded in death by his parents Reuben Zelotus Page and Mary Gaunt Page and his seven siblings Marie Blodgett, William Page, Katharine Beyer, Mary Kettner, Reuben Page III, Martha Whiddon and Edward Page.
