Emily I. Bergmann Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Emily I. Bergmann, 81, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Winchester House in Libertyville, IL. She was born January 1, 1938 in Libertyville, where she was a 1956 Libertyville High School and received her nursing degree from Grant Hospital in Chicago. She was employed by the Lake County Health Department as a Communicable Disease Coordinator, Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago as an Infection Control Coordinator. Emily was a member of the IL Public Health Association and the Association for Practitioners in Infection Control & Prevention. She was a founding member of the Down Syndrome Development Council of Lake County, was a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Libertyville, the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society and the Lake County Farm Bureau. Surviving are her 2 children, Debra (Bill) Weichman and Rick Bergmann; 2 grandchildren, Gregory Torbeck and Nyssa (Joe) Torbeck Rodriguez and 2 brothers, Roy Kunke and William (the late Carole) Kunke. She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Irene Kunke, her son, Jonathan, a sister, Judy Burns and sister-in-law, Linda Kunke. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church, 501 W. Park Ave. Libertyville, IL 60048. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.) Libertyville.
