Lt. Col. Arthur Kieth Klemp

July 3, 1944 - January 27, 2022

Lt. Col (Ret.) Arthur Kieth Klemp, 77, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, peacefully at his home in Vernon Hills, IL. He was born on July 3, 1944, in Ripon, WI. Kieth graduated from the University of Wisconsin and later received his masters while in the military. Following 25 years in the Air Force his second career in 1992 was in the appraisal business. Korea, Italy and various areas of the US were home to the Klemp family. Kieth shared his love of music in the UW marching band and singing in numerous choruses throughout his life. Thirty-two years were spent singing with the Libertyville United Methodist Church choir and volunteering for PADS. Twenty plus years were spent performing with the Milwaukee Bel Canto chorus which offered Kieth many opportunities to sing concerts in foreign countries. During his military career his love of sports lead him to coach and participate in numerous sports. He remained a dedicated lifetime Wisconsin Badgers football fan. He stayed physically active in his later years often walking five miles a day. Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Bonnie Klemp; 2 children, Ian Michael (Erin) Klemp and Robyn Alicia (Casey) Schoenebeck; 4 grandchildren, Zoe & Tessa Klemp and Ashley & Aidan Schoenebeck and also by 2 brothers, Dave (Pat) Badtke and Dennis (Bonna) Badtke. A visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a service at 2:00 pm Friday, February 18, 2022, at Libertyville United Methodist Church, 429 Brainerd Ave. in Libertyville. Memorial contributions can be made to the Libertyville United Methodist Church music program or to your local food bank. Arrangements by Burnett-Dane Funeral Home in Libertyville.
