Pamela R. Marzec

Pamela Riddle Marzec, age 73, of Libertyville, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 9, 2022 with her husband by her side. She was born in Chicago, IL on March 13, 1949 to William and Ellen (Busse) Riddle. On June 11, 1996, Pam married Walter Marzec in Waukegan, a year later renewing their vows with a Catholic ceremony at Saints Faith, Hope, and Charity in Winnetka . Pam worked for many years as her husband Wally’s Administrative Assistant. They loved taking long scenic road trips to Door County and the Minocqua/Boulder Junction area, exploring the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Every Fall after retirement, they would travel up north enjoying the beautiful colors of the leaves changing for the season. This season was their last trip together. They discussed how this was the most phenomenal scenery in over 25 years, with the miles and miles of indescribable vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows. The moment may have ended, but the memories will last forever. Pam was more than just your avid reader, she craved books, completing at least a book a week, making her well known with everyone at the Cook Park Library in Libertyville. She enjoyed reading biographies, and was quite the serious history buff, particularly World War II. Pam had a tremendous vocabulary with dreams of someday writing her own book of verses and sonnets. That dream never came true. She was active in Hospice. She received special recognition for writing for the company’s brochures. Pam was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Ellen Busse Riddle. Left behind to cherish Pam’s memory are her loving husband of 26 years, Wally Marzec; her son, Grant Patrick Kay; "daughter" Kate (Mark) O'Connor and her sister, Barbara (John) Cegielski.: Additional family members include her five stepchildren, Anne (Peter) Dineen, Dan (Margie) Marzec, John Marzec, Kathryn (Vincent) Perrone, Matthew Marzec; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Dineen, Ryan (Maddie) Dineen, Kelly Dineen, Ben, Taylor, and Josh Marzec, Ella and Jack Perrone; and her special friend, Betsy Brittsan. A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Saints Faith, Hope, and Charity Catholic Church, 191 Linden Street, Winnetka, IL 60093.
