Nancy E. Bodner

Nancy E. Bodner, 67, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. She was born March 11, 1955 in Natrona Heights, PA, was formerly of West Leechburg, PA, living for two years in Rochester, NY and has been a longtime resident of Libertyville, IL. Nancy studied Russian Language and Literature at Middlebury College in VT and received her B.A. and Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. She was the former Information Services Manager at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, Library Director at Carmel Catholic High School and retired as Library Director at Notre Dame College Prep in Niles, IL. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Church of Libertyville, where she taught Sunday school classes and periodically enjoyed attending services at Marytown in Libertyville. Nancy cherished traveling to Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Marco Island, reading, cooking, crafting, and spending time with her family. Surviving is her husband of 42 years, Dr. John B. Bodner; loving son, Philip J. Bodner; her Mother Marie M. Linkes, Pittsburgh, PA, and sisters-in-law, Joanne (the late Vincent) Cicco, Monroeville, PA and Eleanor (Bernard) Popovic, Warren, OH and brother-in-law, John DeLucia Wilmington, DE, and her dear friend of over 36 years, Ellen Hines. She was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester Linkes, brother, Ronald Linkes, sister, Mary Sue Linkes and sister-in-law, Mary Pat (Bodner) DeLucia. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.) in Libertyville. Prayers will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple Ave. in Libertyville.
