Marie Elaina (Carani) Hall, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and her beloved caregiver on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at her home in Grayslake, IL. She was born September 15, 1945, in Highland Park, IL, to Paul and Nella (nee Venturi) Carani and grew up surrounded by her large Italian family, a connection she treasured throughout her life. Marie lived in Libertyville for over 50 years with her late husband Jay where they raised their three children. Family was the heart of Marie’s life. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and was always proud of their accomplishments. Christmas held a special place in her heart, filled with baking cookies, family gatherings, and traditions that created many precious memories that will continue to be held dear by those she loved. Marie cherished her friendships and always looked forward to spending time with those she held dear. She also found joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life, whether she was browsing the aisles at Hobby Lobby or experiencing the thrill of finding a unique treasure while thrift shopping. Marie’s strong faith in God was an important part of her life and brought her comfort and strength. She found peace in placing her trust in God and carried that faith with her through life’s joys and challenges. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need. Her love for her family, her faith, and her caring spirit will be deeply missed. Marie is survived by her three children, Dana (John) Musnicki, Michael Hall, and Becky (Alan) Kirgan; and five grandchildren, Nic (fiancée Rebecca) Presutti, Finley Blakeman, Megan Blakeman, James Kirgan, and Bailey Musnicki. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jay Hall, in 2012, and her parents Paul and Nella (Venturi) Carani. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville. Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Ave., Libertyville. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
