Larry Laske

Louis Lawrence "Larry" Laske, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, in Libertyville, Illinois. He was born May 1, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, Larry was a proud graduate of Grayslake High School's Class of 1955, where he excelled in both baseball and football. His lifelong commitment to his hometown continued long after graduation, as he later served as board president of the Grayslake High School and as president of the Jaycees. Larry earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois and later completed his MBA through the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. He built a successful career as the owner of Vonco Products, a manufacturing company in Lake Villa, where he was respected for his leadership, work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit. A resident of Libertyville since 1986, Larry was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he embraced life with enthusiasm and enjoyed golfing, fishing, skiing, traveling & playing guitar & piano. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with family and friends at his beloved home on Chambers Island in Door County, Wisconsin, where he loved boating and creating lasting memories. Above all, Larry was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Barbara Laske; his five children, Cheryl Laske, Cathy (John) LaRoi, Larry Laske, Les (Julie) Laske, and Christy Laske; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his sister, Diane. His love, guidance, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by prayers at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. in Libertyville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Ave., Libertyville. Funeral luncheon will follow immediately after Mass at White Deer Run Golf Club, 250 W.
