Karen Marie Beller

Karen Marie Beller, age 65, of Lake Villa, died unexpectedly at her home, on Sunday, November 12, 2023. She was born May 3, 1958, to Norman and Sabina (Meyer) Burnett in Libertyville, IL. Karen met her soulmate Walter “Tim” Beller while working together at Dearborn. Soon the two lovebirds married on October 21, 1989, and began their journey of a lifetime. Karen was a fun-loving, quirky, nutty kid at heart, who loved to be silly and make everyone laugh and want to be around her. She had an outgoing personality and zest for life, she was especially fond of midnight snacking, movies, gardening, and decorating for the holidays. Karen was excited about hosting Thanksgiving in a week, this year we are the ones that are thankful for her life and grateful we could be a part of it. Her love of animals was second to none, and she was never without some sort of furry companion or critter near her. Karen was a modern-day Snow White with all the neighborhood animals flocking to her yard. She loved to feed and watch the “skirls” every day, and she even named a few chipmunks. Karen had a beautiful soul that shone bright, she was exceptionally kind in all, and in return her family, an abundance of friends, and many animals adored her. She was always kind and generous and had the biggest heart. Karen’s selfless support was always there for anyone who needed her, even when there was nothing to give. More than anything in the world, Karen loved her daughter and provided her with comfort and unconditional love. Karen was passionate about family, and that only increased as her grandchildren entered her life. She was the grandma everyone wanted, she spoiled them with her love and affection, and was rarely known to discipline them. Karen’s sudden passing left a huge hole in the hearts of her family as she was loved beyond measure. It is hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. Left behind to cherish her memory is her loving daughter, Nicole (Kevin Smith) Beller; two grandchildren, Kaiden and Darren Smith; four siblings, Wayne Burnett, Sharon (Russ) Egan, Norma Burnett, Alice Burnett; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Some may say that Karen died from a broken heart, with the recent passing of her best friend and husband of 33 years, Walter “Tim” Beller and shortly thereafter her faithful furry companions Maya and Angel. She was also lovingly greeted at heaven’s door by her grandmother, Sabina (Gordy) Burnett, and her brother Steve Burnett. Services were private for the family.
