Alden K. Mose

Alden K. Mose, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2013. He was born July 6, 1927 in Chicago where he spent his childhood and was a graduate of Amundsen High School. Just before his eighteenth birthday, Alden joined the Marines and served in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the military he studied law at DePaul University. He and his then wife Anne (MacCarthy, deceased) had two children and he joined his father's land real estate business. Later Alden started Landmark Corporation, a business he operated until the last year of his life. His most important experience was meeting the love of his life, greatest friend and ally, Mildred "Mimi" Pinney. They were a devoted and loving couple, and whenever Mimi entered a room, Alden's eyes would sparkle and his face would light up with love. He also loved the family lake house in Glenwood Springs, Fontana, WI where his family would gather for the summers. Alden was active at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Lincolnshire, IL. Some of his hobbies included skeet shooting, hunting, cooking and his dogs. He developed a social circle that evolved around the Northbrook Sports Club and his hunting friends. Surviving are his two children; Kristina (Robert) Mose-Libon of W. Whately, MA, Steven (Linda) Mose of St. Paul, MN, his beloved Mimi, three grandchildren; Max, Rachel, Courtney, great-grandson Omer, and many loving and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 30 Riverwoods Rd., Lincolnshire, IL 60069. After the service a light luncheon will be served.
