Adam "Amy" Jordan

Adam C. “Amy” Jordan passed peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, September 12th. He was born on March 21,1929 at Condell Hospital in Libertyville, Illinois to his Italian parents Charlie and Providenza Jordan who immigrated here from Sicily. Adam was always very proud of his Italian heritage and the sacrifice his parents made to provide his family with a wonderful life in America. Adam was known by “Amy” to his friends and family, which was given a nickname by his younger sister when they were children. He was a Libertyville boy through and through and grew up on Broadway, attended St. Joseph’s Church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a leader of Boy Scout Troop 60. He lived his entire life in the Libertyville area with his wife, Millie and his two sons, Vincent and Jeffrey. After serving in the Korean War as a radio operator, Amy came home to work at Great Lakes as a Coal Truck Supervisor. Great Lakes is where he met the love of his life and was married to Millie for 70 years. In 1958 Amy’s brother convinced him to open a Men’s Clothing Store in Round Lake, a young and growing community that was ripe for new business. Jordan’s Menswear is still in the Round Lake Area after 68 years of business. Amy is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe (Lauretta) and Carl and his sister Mary Sullivan (Gerry). He is survived by his wife, Millie, his sons, Vincent (Cyndi) and Jeffrey, his grandchildren Julie (Derek) and Tony and his two great grandchildren, Sasha and Vincent and many adoring nieces and nephews. Amy will be remembered most for his kind, compassionate and joyful nature. There was never a time that he walked into a room without greeting people with his infectious smile and sincerely sharing how glad he was to see you. He adored his family beyond measure and never missed an opportunity to show them how much he loved them. He will be greatly missed, but will always hold a very special place in all of their hearts. Private funeral services are being held on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home in Libertyville. Interment will follow to Ascension Cemetery.
